We Say
Tired of stubborn contaminants clinging to your car's paintwork, leaving it feeling rough and looking dull? Bilt Hamber Auto-Clay is your solution for achieving a flawlessly smooth and glass-like finish.
Bilt Hamber auto-clay is an award-winning clay bar available in three different grades (regular, medium and soft), all of which are very good at removing stubbornly bonded surface contaminants such as industrial fallout, paint overspray and metal filings.
Although all three grades are relatively smooth textured and technically contain the same concentration of abrasives, their different levels of elasticity results in them varying slightly in abrasive strength. The regular grade is very firm and relatively more abrasive, which makes it ideal for use in hot weather (when other clay bars can become too soft to be effective) and for vehicles that have been neglected or never clayed before. The medium grade is softer and easier to fold, which makes it ideal for normal claying duties on cars that are reasonably well-maintained. The soft grade is much softer and relatively less abrasive, which makes it ideal for use in cold weather (when other clay bars can become too stiff to use safely) and for vehicles that are pampered regularly.
Key Features
Description
This detailing clay is designed to remove stubbornly bonded surface contaminants and restore a perfectly smooth finish on bodywork and glass. Three different versions of Bilt Hamber auto-clay are available, none of which require the use of a dedicated clay bar lubricant; all three glide smoothly over underlying surfaces using just water alone.
The regular version is very firm and has a relatively high level of abrasive strength, which makes it ideal for use in hot weather and for removing high levels of contamination. The medium version is softer and easier to shape, which makes it ideal for year-round use and for tackling moderate levels of contamination.
As its name suggest, the soft version is even softer and has a relatively low level of abrasive strength, which makes it ideal for use in cold weather and for removing low levels of contamination. When used appropriately, all three versions leave treated surfaces feeling silky smooth in readiness for either polishing or the addition of protection.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS:
Superior Decontamination: Bilt Hamber Auto-Clay effectively lifts and traps even the most stubborn contaminants, restoring your paint's shine and smoothness. Whether it's overspray, industrial fallout, or environmental pollutants, this clay does a great job of restoring a smooth finish to your car.
Water-Based Lubrication: Unlike some other clay bars, Bilt Hamber Auto Clay doesn't require a separate lubricant (which can sometimes cause streaking). This clay bar uses clean water as a lubricant, reducing product consumption and making the process easier and more sustainable.
No Mess: You just need a damp cloth or water to keep the clay working smoothly, unlike some clays that need a generous spritz of a detailing spray or clay lubricant.
Easy to use: This Bilt Hamber clay is very pliable, so it glides easily over the surface without too much effort. It’s also flexible, which makes it easier to work with on larger panels or contoured areas.
Durable & Long-Lasting: This high-quality clay bar is designed to withstand multiple uses, making it an excellent investment for car enthusiasts and professional detailers alike.
Prepares Paint for Waxing/Polishing: By removing embedded contaminants, Bilt Hamber Auto-Clay ensures that your waxes, sealants, and polishes will adhere properly, delivering optimal results and protection.

How To Use
Bilt Hamber auto-clay is designed to work optimally with water, although a dedicated clay lubricant may also be used.
Before use, divide the clay into several pieces and soften them up in a bowl of warm water. When you are ready to start (after washing and rinsing your car normally, and then treating the bodywork and glass with tar and iron removers), take out one of the pieces and mould it into a patty shape.
Next, soak the first surface to be treated with water or a dedicated clay lubricant and, using light pressure, begin rubbing the clay over it in straight lines in all directions. Initially you may feel some resistance (as the clay encounters residual contaminants), but this will gradually ease until the clay glides freely, indicating that the contaminants have been fully removed. Swap the piece of clay after each panel or window (to ensure you are always working with a soft piece) and repeat these steps until all of the bodywork and glass is done. Finally, either foam or wash the car again, and then rinse it thoroughly and dry off.
Note that if you drop a piece of clay at any point you must immediately discard it, otherwise you run the risk of damaging your car. Always use detailing clay on a cool surface and out of direct sunlight. After use, store your clay bar in its original container, or an airtight container.
