We Say
Mechanical decontamination is one of the most important — and most misunderstood — steps in paint preparation. Traditional clay bars work, but they’re inconsistent, easy to drop, and difficult to control over larger panels.
The Carbon Collective Exfoli-Block 2.0 takes the same principle and turns it into a far more controlled, repeatable system. By mounting interchangeable clay pads onto a rigid foam block, pressure is spread evenly across the surface, which reduces the chance of marring and makes the process faster and more predictable.
The real strength of this system is the ability to swap pads as they wear, rather than replacing an entire clay bar. It keeps performance consistent and makes it easier to tailor the process to the condition of the paint.
Bottom line, this is how we prefer to decontaminate modern paintwork. It’s cleaner, more consistent, and far easier to control — which is exactly why we stock it.
Key Features
Description
The Carbon Collective Exfoli-Block 2.0 is an interchangeable clay decontamination system designed to remove bonded surface contamination safely and efficiently. It replaces traditional clay bars with a rigid foam block and replaceable clay pads, allowing for more even pressure and consistent results.
By spreading contact evenly across the surface, the Exfoli-Block reduces high-pressure points that can cause marring. The interchangeable pads can be replaced as they wear, ensuring performance stays consistent across multiple vehicles or large decontamination jobs.
System benefits:
✓ Faster decontamination than traditional clay bars
✓ More consistent pressure across the panel
✓ Replaceable pads for long-term use
✓ Reduced risk compared to kneaded clay
This system is suitable for use on paintwork, glass and other hard exterior surfaces when used with an appropriate clay lubricant.

How To Use
1) Wash thoroughly:
Ensure the vehicle is fully washed and free from loose dirt before decontamination.
2) Use a proper lubricant:
Apply a dedicated clay lubricant or a suitably diluted shampoo solution to the panel.
3) Light pressure only:
Glide the Exfoli-Block across the surface using straight-line motions. Do not apply heavy pressure — let the pad do the work.
4) Check the surface:
Once the surface feels smooth, move on. Do not overwork the area.
5) Rinse and inspect:
Rinse away residue and inspect the pad. Replace pads as needed to maintain performance.
6) Follow with protection:
After decontamination, proceed to polishing or apply protection as required.
