We Say

When it comes to that final, showroom-quality look, we’re big believers in making the last step count — and that’s exactly where Koch Chemie Perfect Finish Sealant (PFS)shines. This isn’t just another quick-detailer-style product; it’s a high-grade, polymer-based paint sealant designed to protect and enhance your vehicle’s finish in one go.

We like it because it does two things exceptionally well: it seals the paint with a durable, synthetic barrier, and it delivers a deep, wet-look gloss you can actually see in different lighting conditions. The formula uses advanced polymer technology that bonds to the clear coat, creating a hydrophobic layer. That means water beading that lasts, reduced contamination build-up, and easier maintenance washes. Scientifically speaking, hydrophobic surfaces minimise the contact angle of water, which reduces the time moisture spends on the paint — helping to limit water spot etching and surface oxidation over time.

Application is refreshingly straightforward. Whether you’re working by hand or with a finishing pad on a DA polisher, PFS spreads evenly and buffs off clean without hazing. We’ve found it especially forgiving on darker paint colours, where some sealants can streak or leave residue. The slick finish it leaves behind doesn’t just look good — it also makes dirt and road film less likely to stick, which is a win if you’re serious about keeping your car cleaner for longer.

One of the standout points for us is the balance between gloss enhancement and protection. Some products lean heavily towards visual impact but sacrifice longevity; others last for months but don’t quite deliver that depth of shine. Perfect Finish Sealant sits right in the sweet spot, offering both, thanks to its hybrid blend of gloss-enhancing agents and resilient polymers. While durability will vary depending on wash routine, environment, and prep, we’ve seen performance hold up well for several months under mixed driving conditions.

If you’re into your detailing routine, this works brilliantly as a final stage product after polishing — locking in that freshly refined finish. If you’re less about the multi-stage process, it still works as a stand-alone sealant to boost gloss and add protection to otherwise clean paint. It’s also compatible with most waxes and ceramic coatings, so you can layer it if you want to experiment with extra depth or protection.

In short, Koch Chemie PFS is one of those products that earns a spot on the shelf because it delivers professional-grade results without overcomplicating the process. For anyone looking to add long-lasting protection, a slick surface, and a gloss that turns heads, this sealant is a solid choice.

Description

Engineered for discerning automotive professionals and detail enthusiasts, the Koch Chemie Perfect Finish Sealant (PFS) represents the pinnacle of synthetic paint protection. This high-performance, SiO₂ (silica dioxide)-enhanced sealant delivers an exceptionally durable, hydrophobic, and optically clear finish that safeguards your vehicle’s paint for up to 9 months under normal conditions. Designed with cutting-edge polymer chemistry, PFS combines long-lasting durability with a deep, reflective gloss that enhances the original luster of the paintwork.

Formulated using advanced sol-gel technology, Koch Chemie PFS creates a covalent bond with the vehicle’s clear coat, forming a nano-scale protective layer resistant to environmental contaminants, UV radiation, acid rain, bird droppings, and road grime. Unlike traditional waxes or basic sealants, PFS offers superior chemical resistance and maintains its performance integrity through repeated washes and exposure to harsh elements. Its solvent-free composition ensures safe application on all painted surfaces, including clear coats, ceramic coatings, and factory finishes, without risk of marring or hazing.

The application process is streamlined for precision and consistency. PFS spreads evenly with minimal product usage—typically 20–30 ml for an average-sized vehicle—ensuring cost-effective, professional-grade results. Its medium cure time allows ample working latitude for manual or machine application, while the non-abrasive formula eliminates the need for compounding post-application. For optimal results, apply to a thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated surface, ideally following a clay bar treatment and paint correction. Once cured, PFS develops a slick, water-beading surface with contact angles exceeding 110°, promoting self-cleaning properties and reducing water spotting.

Koch Chemie PFS is also compatible with layered detailing systems, serving effectively as a sacrificial topcoat over ceramic coatings or as a standalone protective solution. The sealant emits no strong odors during or after application, making it suitable for indoor use in professional detailing bays or home garages.

Backed by Germany’s rigorous quality standards and decades of chemical innovation, Koch Chemie PFS is the trusted choice for detailers who demand reliability, depth, and longevity in their finish. Elevate your vehicle’s protection with a sealant engineered not just to shine—but to endure.

How To Use

At our detailing workshop, we’ve used Koch Chemie Perfect Finish Sealant (PFS)countless times, and we know first-hand how effective it is for achieving a deep gloss and long‑lasting protection. Whether you’re a professional detailer or a dedicated enthusiast, following the right process will help you get the best results every time.

1. Prepare the Surface

Before applying the sealant, we always start with a thorough wash using a pH‑neutral car shampoo to remove dirt, traffic film and any previous wax residues. We recommend drying the paintwork completely with a clean, soft microfiber towel. For optimal bonding, the surface should be free from contaminants, so using a clay bar or mild decontamination product can help achieve a perfectly smooth finish.

2. Apply Koch Chemie Perfect Finish Sealant

Shake the bottle well before use. We apply a small amount of PFS to a soft foam applicator pad or a finishing microfiber pad, depending on whether we’re working by hand or with a dual‑action polisher. Work the sealant evenly over a panel at a time, using light to moderate pressure. The goal is to create a thin, uniform layer — a little goes a long way.

3. Allow to Cure

Once applied, let the sealant haze slightly. This curing phase allows the advanced polymers in PFS to bond to the paint surface, enhancing gloss and durability. In most conditions, this takes just a few minutes, but in cooler temperatures it may take a little longer.

4. Buff to a High Gloss

Using a clean, plush microfiber cloth, gently buff away the residue. We always turn the cloth regularly to avoid reintroducing product build‑up. This step reveals the deep, reflective finish Koch Chemie PFS is known for, while leaving behind a strong protective barrier against environmental contaminants.

5. Maintain the Finish

To keep the protection at its best, we recommend regular maintenance washes with a gentle car shampoo and periodic top‑ups of the sealant every few months. This not only prolongs the life of the coating but also keeps your paint looking freshly detailed.
