We Say
Bring back that freshly polished shine and protect your paintwork in one easy step — by hand or machine.
There's nothing quite like freshly polished paintwork. Removing those fine swirls and dull patches can completely transform the appearance of a car, bringing back the depth, clarity and shine that made it look so good in the first place. The trouble is that traditional machine polishing can involve several different products and stages, which isn't always appealing if you simply want to give your paintwork a proper refresh.
Koch-Chemie THE FINISHER PowerSpeedPolish offers a much more straightforward approach. It's a one-step machine polish that combines paint correction, gloss enhancement and protection, allowing you to improve the appearance of your paintwork without needing to follow every polishing session with a separate sealant.
What makes it particularly useful is its ability to tackle several common paint imperfections. Koch-Chemie has designed PowerSpeedPolish to remove polishing haze, holograms and moderate scratches, helping restore a clearer, more reflective finish. It's ideal for paintwork that has lost some of its sparkle through normal washing and everyday use.
One of the biggest advantages of a one-step polish is the time it saves. Rather than using an abrasive compound to remove defects, another polish to refine the finish and a separate product to add protection, PowerSpeedPolish brings those benefits together in one application. That makes it especially attractive for enthusiasts who want impressive results without turning every polishing job into a full weekend project.
There's an important distinction between polishing and simply hiding imperfections. PowerSpeedPolish is designed to correct suitable paint defects through machine polishing, although the amount of correction achievable will depend on the hardness of the paintwork, the polishing pad and the technique used. Deeper scratches and more severe defects may still require a stronger compound or additional polishing stages.
We're also pleased to see a protective sealing effect included. After polishing, PowerSpeedPolish leaves the paintwork with an added layer of protection alongside its glossy finish. We wouldn't describe this as a replacement for a dedicated long-term ceramic coating, but it's a very convenient benefit for anyone looking to improve and protect their paintwork in one session.
Application is reassuringly simple, particularly if you already own a dual-action polisher. Koch-Chemie recommends pairing PowerSpeedPolish with its One Cut Pad, spreading the product at a low machine speed before working it thoroughly across the panel using overlapping passes. Once finished, the remaining polish is removed with a suitable microfibre buffing towel.
As with any machine polish, preparation still matters. The paintwork should be thoroughly washed and decontaminated before polishing, and it's always worth testing a small area first to establish how much correction is needed. Starting with the least aggressive combination that achieves the desired result is a sensible approach.
For us, PowerSpeedPolish makes a lot of sense within THE FINISHER range. It takes a process that can sometimes seem complicated and makes it much more approachable, without losing the benefits of genuine machine polishing. If your paintwork is looking a little tired and you'd like to bring back its shine while adding protection at the same time, this is a great place to start.

How To Use
1) Prepare the paintwork:
Thoroughly wash and dry the vehicle before polishing. Remove bonded contamination where necessary and ensure the paintwork is clean and free from loose dirt.
2) Check the surface:
Work on cool paintwork away from direct sunlight. Inspect the paint for defects and test a small area first to confirm that the chosen polishing combination gives the desired result.
3) Prepare your machine:
Fit a suitable Koch-Chemie One Cut Foam Pad to a compatible dual-action polishing machine, ensuring that the pad is correctly centred and securely attached to the backing plate.
4) Shake and apply:
Shake the PowerSpeedPolish bottle briefly before use. Apply 5 pea-sized drops of product to the polishing pad, as recommended by Koch-Chemie.
5) Spread at low speed:
With the pad placed against the paintwork, spread the polish across a manageable working area using a low machine speed.
6) Polish the paintwork:
Increase to a suitable higher machine speed and work the polish thoroughly using slow, overlapping passes in a criss-cross pattern. Keep the pad flat and moving, using controlled pressure.
7) Buff away the residue:
Once the polishing stage is complete, use a clean, soft microfibre buffing towel to remove the remaining polish and reveal the high-gloss finish. Koch-Chemie recommends its Polish & Sealing Towel for this stage.
8) Inspect the result:
Check the finished area under good lighting. Where moderate imperfections remain, a further controlled polishing pass may be appropriate. Deeper defects may require a different polishing compound.
9) Repeat across the vehicle:
Continue working around the vehicle in manageable sections, keeping the polishing pad clean and avoiding unnecessary pressure or excessive heat.
