Description
The SCANGRIP MATCHPEN R is a lightweight yet powerful rechargeable pen-style work light that makes easy work of defect spotting in overcast conditions and indoor environments. It is very easy to use, as its compact size and end-mounted push-button switch enables single-handed operation, and is very rugged too, thanks to its aluminium construction and solvent resistant glass lens. The bright COB LED outputs 100 lumens of either warm white light or cold white light (selectable colour temperatures of 4500 K and 6500 K, with full spectrum CRI+ values of more than 92%), the spread of which can be varied between 10° and 45° by adjusting the sliding shroud. The COB LED technology produces completely uniform and even illumination, which makes it perfect for detailing duties. The SCANGRIP MATCHPEN R is powered by an internal 3.7 V 1100 mAh Li-ion battery. A fully charged battery enables up to 2.5 hours of continuous operation, and recharging usually takes around 2.5 hours. Each SCANGRIP MATCHPEN R comes supplied with a USB charging cable, an instruction manual and a three year return to base warranty.

How To Use
Before using the SCANGRIP MATCHPEN R for the first time, charge the internal 3.7 V 1100 mAh Li-ion battery fully using the supplied USB charging cable. Full charge is achieved when the charging indicator turns green; this usually takes less than an hour from new, as the SCANGRIP MATCHPEN R is supplied partially charged. In future, recharge the SCANGRIP MATCHPEN R as and when required; this typically takes around 2.5 hours from a flat state. Please note that you should never store the SCANGRIP MATCHPEN R with a flat battery, as it could become over-discharged and impossible to reuse. In line with this, if you don't intend to use your SCANGRIP MATCHPEN R for a long period of time (i.e. several months or more), make sure you recharge it fully every 30 days or so, to ensure that the battery remains in good condition. On a more general note, we recommend switching between the two different colour temperatures when checking paint correction work, as they highlight paint defects differently depending on the colour of the finish. You will find it easier to spot defects (particularly marring and holograms) if you stand back slightly and sweep the beam over the bodywork from a distance of 50 - 100 cm.
