We Say
SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax was first introduced to the UK market in 2014, and created quite a stir thanks to its outstanding performance characteristics and affordable price point. Since then, its popularity has continued to soar, and it's scooped up numerous awards in best sealant and wax tests conducted both within the detailing community and by mainstream automotive media outlets. And no wonder; it really does deliver class-leading durability and ridiculously good water beading, which not only looks incredible but also helps to keep protected surfaces cleaner for longer in between routine washes. However, in order to get the best out of it, there's a few important things to note. Firstly, despite its name, SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax isn't a wax in the true sense of the term, as it doesn't contain any naturally derived waxes (e.g. carnauba). Rather, it comprises a fluorine polymer ('fusso' means 'fluorine' in Japanese) suspended in a synthetic petroleum-based paste. Therefore, it is actually a polymer-based sealant, and will only adhere properly to oil-free surfaces (see the How To Use section below for more details) or itself (it can be layered). It is best to think of it then as either a standalone last step product, or a basecoat that can be topped with other sealants and waxes. Secondly, because it hardens significantly as it dries out and cures, it's important to apply it as thinly and evenly as possible, and to buff it off within the specified time period (again, see the How To Use section below for more details); try to keep the old adage of less is more in mind as you work. As long as you follow these tips we're sure you'll love it as much as we do. Did we mention the ridiculously good water beading?!

Description
SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax is an ultra-durable synthetic sealant with class-leading hydrophobic (water-hating) properties. Comprising a fluorine polymer (resinous polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE for short) suspended in a synthetic petroleum-based paste, it dries and cures to form a hard protective film that is extremely hydrophobic. As a result, rainfall and rinse water bead up and roll off very quickly. This extreme beading not only looks good, but also tends to pick up and carry away fresh contaminants, which makes routine washing easier and safer. In addition to these benefits, SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax also produces a sharp wet-looking shine and provides excellent protection against bird droppings, bug splatter, road salt and UV radiation for up to twelve months per application, even on daily drivers. These properties make it an outstanding choice for standalone winter use, and an excellent basecoat for the less durable but more aesthetically pleasing waxes in the SOFT99 range (e.g. King of Gloss and Mirror Shine Wax). As is often the case for Japanese last step products, two different versions of SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax are available; dark and light. The dark version is best suited to dark solid, metallic and pearlescent colours and to warmer mid-tone colours such as reds and yellows, while the light version is best suited to light solid, metallic and pearlescent colours and to cooler mid-tone colours such as blues and greys. The differences, however, are subtle, and it's perfectly safe to experiment with either version on any given colour if you wish.

How To Use
SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax should only be applied by hand. For best results, it should be applied to freshly cleansed paint (cleaned with either a strong panel wipe such as SOFT99 Silicone Off or Bilt Hamber cleanser-fluid, or, if a degree of minor defect correction and filling is required, an oil-free paint preparation product such as Bilt Hamber cleanser-polish) two to three panels at a time and as thinly and evenly as possible using either the supplied foam applicator pad or an Auto Finesse Waxmate XL (we favour the latter, as its finer pore structure spreads a thinner layer of the product, which makes it easier to buff off). Try to avoid getting it on unpainted trims, but if you do be sure to wipe it off straight away, otherwise staining may occur. The resulting film should then be left to cure for a short time period (5-10 minutes in warm weather, 10-15 minutes in cool weather) before being buffed off carefully using a PB Deluxe Buffing Towel. Don't be tempted to apply it too thickly or leave it to cure for longer than specified (if you do you will find it much more difficult to remove). If you are left with a slightly oily-looking film as a result of over-application, wait a minimum of 12 hours and then wash the car normally and quick detail the finish with SOFT99 Fukupika Spray Advance (Strong Type); this process should fully remove the film and leave a sharp completely clear-looking shine.
