We Say

Stubborn sticker residue, tree sap or tar? Eulex makes light work of sticky contamination, evaporating quickly without leaving unwanted residue behind.

There's nothing more frustrating than removing a badge or sticker, only to discover a stubborn layer of glue still clinging to the paintwork. You can try washing it, rubbing it with a microfibre towel or reaching for a general-purpose cleaner, but some residues simply need a proper solvent.

Koch-Chemie Eulex is designed for exactly these situations. It's a specialist adhesive and stain remover that quickly dissolves stubborn contamination on suitable solvent-resistant surfaces, including paintwork, glass, ceramic and metal.

What makes Eulex particularly useful is its versatility. In addition to sticker adhesive, Koch-Chemie recommends it for rubber marks, tree resin, overspray, ink stains, oils, grease and tar. That's quite a useful selection of problems for one product to tackle, particularly if you regularly prepare used vehicles or carry out detailed exterior cleaning.

The real advantage is its fast evaporation. Unlike slower-working solvent cleaners, Eulex is designed to remove contamination quickly and evaporate without leaving residue. This is especially useful when removing adhesive from badges or stickers, where you want to get the surface clean without spending ages wiping away the cleaning product afterwards.

Of course, there's a trade-off. Fast evaporation means less working time, so heavily built-up adhesive may require repeated applications. If you're tackling larger areas of glue or particularly stubborn tree sap, a slower-evaporating cleaner such as Koch-Chemie Orange Power may be more convenient.

It's also worth distinguishing Eulex from Koch-Chemie Eulex M. Standard Eulex is a fast-evaporating cleaner intended for conventional solvent-resistant surfaces. Eulex M is specifically formulated for use on compatible matt-painted finishes. We wouldn't recommend substituting regular Eulex for Eulex M on matt or satin paintwork.

Application is straightforward. Koch-Chemie recommends applying Eulex undiluted using a dry, absorbent cloth, then carefully rubbing away the contamination. Always check compatibility first, especially on older paintwork, refinished panels or unfamiliar surface coatings.

One particularly important limitation is that Eulex is not suitable for polycarbonate, acrylic or similar plastics. That means you need to take particular care around headlight lenses, sensitive transparent plastics and other materials that may be damaged by solvents.

For us, Eulex is a useful specialist cleaner to have available when ordinary washing products simply aren't up to the job. It's fast, versatile and particularly effective for those frustrating adhesive removal tasks. Just remember that its strength lies in specialist solvent cleaning, not general-purpose vehicle washing.

How To Use

1) Check compatibility:
Confirm the surface is solvent-resistant. Always test colourfastness and material compatibility on an inconspicuous area. Do not use on polycarbonate, acrylic or similar plastics.

2) Prepare the area:
Work on a cool surface in a well-ventilated location, away from flames, sparks and other ignition sources. Remove loose dirt where necessary.

3) Apply undiluted:
Apply a small amount of Eulex to a dry, absorbent cloth. Koch-Chemie recommends cloth application directly to the affected contamination.

4) Remove the contamination:
Carefully work the dampened cloth over the adhesive or stain until it is removed. Use controlled pressure and avoid unnecessary rubbing. Repeat with a clean section of cloth if necessary.

5) Inspect the finish:
Allow the product to evaporate and check the surface for remaining contamination. Repeat cautiously if required, after confirming continued material compatibility.
