We Say

Positioned in the middle of the DA Foam range of pads design for random orbital and gear driven machine polishers, the DA Fine pad is a fantastic all round pad capable of a good level of defect removal whilst also capable of leaving a quality high gloss finish on all paint types.

Used with Rupes DA Fine compound it is a brilliant combination for single stage polishing processes as well as being capable of acting as a finishing pad when used as part of a 2 stage compound/polish process.

Key Features

cut level 5/10 (compared to others)
Flexibility 6/10 (compared to others)
washable yes (by hand)

Description

The DA FINE foam pad is the most versatile foam pad in the RUPES BigFoot range, delivering an effective rate of defect removal and capability for high-gloss finishing on most paint systems. Pair with RUPES DA-FINE polishing compound for moderate to fine defect removal, paint refinement, or final finishing after heavy compounding steps.

This new pad provides the same great performing foam material as the current random orbital yellow foam, expanded to also work with gear-driven orbitals, just with a more vibrant shade of yellow.

How To Use

General usage notes:

(i)Always select the least aggressive pad you think you will need to achieve the desired result, and step up one grade at a time if more cut is required.
(ii)Always ensure that you centre each pad properly on the backing plate (this can take several attempts to get right, but is vital if the machine is to remain perfectly balanced during use).
(iii)Always use an appropriate sized pad for the backing plate you are using (the pad should always protrude past the edge of the backing plate, never the other way around).
(iv)Always prime a new pad by loading it with 2-6 pea-sized drops of product (depending on pad size) and running it stationary on the paint for 30 seconds at speed 1.
(v)Always ensure that spent polish residue on the face of the pad is brushed off regularly during use using a RUPES BigFoot Claw Pad Tool (failure to follow this advice can lead to micromarring of the finish.
(vi)After use, clean the pads with warm water and mild soap(using your fingertips to massage out any remaining polish residue), rinse with running water and allow to dry naturally.
(vii) While not in use, store in a dry, dust-free environment (lidded plastic storage boxes are ideal in this respect).

Tips for succes:

Clean pads frequently during use with compressed air, a vacuum or a Rupes Claw Pad Tool to maintain consistent performance.

Do not over-saturate the pad with compound. Too much compound can lead to diminished performance.

Avoid the use of solvent based compounds and cleaners to prevent damage to the foam cell structure.
